| Team Showboat Christmas Fundraiser!!!
Although our thoughts are turning towards the upcoming holiday season, team Showboat is gearing up on the fundraising front.
To start the season off, team Showboat is proud to announce our first fundraiser for the new season:
Place: Earl of Sussex Pub
Date: Thursday, December 4.
Time: 5:30 pm
Cover: $5.00 (all proceeds to the Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation)
Band: Fumblin' Fingers
Come enjoy traditional Celtic music and celebrate the holiday season with friends ! Fumblin' Fingers will be playing traditional music from the east coast and beyond. You'll be kickin' up your heels when the Fumblin' Fingers start playing !
Moosehead Breweries will be providing samplers and discounts on their products. There will be all sorts of prizes and giveaways.
Have a really ugly Christmas sweater ? Wear it and you might win a prize !

The air outside may be cooling down, but things are heating up in the Ottawa Dragon Boat Race Festival office as plans get underway for the 16th annual event! Here are some great reasons to enter a team this year, including some exciting announcements for 2009:

| 2008 Pledge Challenge Goal Reached!!!
THANK YOU OTTAWA!!!!
The Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation is pleased to announce that our fundraising goal of $250,000 has been reached! As of July 15 the Pledge Challenge total was $258,057.30.
Thank you to all of the teams and paddlers who dedicated their time and effort to help us reach this goal. Complete lists of team totals and individual prize winners will be released later this week. Stay tuned!
